NG

NG simply stands for “no good”. In shot list, a take marked as NG is not usable due to some mistake or the director just doesn’t like it.

Very often, even a good take could be found unusable in a later stage of video production. Human eyes and ears are not sharp enough. And we get tired. In this case, re-shoot if you have the budget. Otherwise, you have to find out a way to make it usable.

Hopefully, after reading this book, you can always figure out a way.
